The Iowa Pork Producers Association along with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach have scheduled a series of pork regional meetings across Iowa. Four meetings will take place with the first meeting scheduled for Monday, February 20th at 1:00 p.m. to be held at the Sioux County Extension office at Orange City. ISU Swine Specialist, Dave Stender tells what the regional meetings will cover.
Stender says the National Pork Board recently sent a group of pork producers to Europe to learn more about African Swine Fever. Stender says their findings will be shared during the swine regional meeting.
Included on the agenda will be Iowa State University Livestock Marketing Specialist Lee Schultz.
Iowa State University Ag Engineer, Kris Kohl will also be available and will offer pork producers a way to estimate the value of manure. Stender says during the morning hours, he will offer pork producers pork quality assurance certification training to pork producers.
