Reduced Liabilities Coming for Agritourism

Reduced Liabilities Coming for Agritourism

Many Nebraska landowners shy away from developing agritourism on their property due to liability in case someone gets hurt. Starting later this summer the Agritourism Promotion Act takes effect. University of Nebraska – Lincoln Extension law specialist Dave Aiken says the new law reduces the liabilities for the landowner for a number of agritourism activities.

Aiken says this law puts the responsibility on those taking part in the activity and not on the landowner. Aiken says this is a common sense solution.

The Agritourism Promotion Act goes into effect on August 30th.
