A committee will be working into the fall drawing new Congressional and legislative district maps in Nebraska.

Senator Tom Briese of Albion is on the committee and says they hope to see some Census data late this summer…

The enabling resolution hit some opposition before it was approved in this year’s legislative session. Briese says that was not surprising….

Briese says there could be one or two rural districts moving to the Lincoln – Omaha area…

The new districts have to be in place by January first.
