The month of July has been busy for the Red Cross in northwest Iowa.  Just last weekend, the organization responded to eight home fires.  While they help to respond to more than just fires, Tammy Lee is the Regional Executive Director and says there are several summer activities that can lead to home fires…

 

Lee says the Red Cross typically responds more for storms in the summer, but this July, they’ve helped 101 people, compared to 70 people a year ago.   She says many of those disasters have been fires…

 

She says anyone wishing to make a donation or volunteer with the Red Cross can visit redcross dot org.
