A bill to legalize recreational marijuana was defeated in a key Minnesota Senate committee–likely ending any chances that pot would become legal in Minnesota this session. Ben Feist with American Civil Liberties Union-Minnesota supported the bill and testified that a recent ACLU study showed.

But Plymouth Police Chief Mike Goldstein opposed the measure.

The bill was voted down in the Republican-led Senate committee on a party-line vote of 6-3.
