The James River has risen to a record level as flooding continues across Yankton County.
County Commission Chairman Dan Klimisch says it has never been like this….
The flooding was caused by record rains of five to eleven inches across the mid portions of the James River valley.
Klimisch says people need to stay away from the flooded areas….
Klimisch says they were just getting caught up on road repair from the March storms and flooding…
Klimisch says not much more can be done until the water goes down..
The James River hit a peak of twenty-six point nine six feet Saturday morning, well above the old record of twenty four point three feet in June of 1984.
