With a temporary patch in place on the Keystone crude oil pipeline, reclamation work has begun at the site of the leak in southern Hutchinson County.
Mark Cooper with Trans Canada, the owners of the pipeline, says they will restore the excavations
About four hundred barrels of oil leaked from the line. The contaminated soil has been removed from the site, and taken to a disposal facility.
Cooper says detection of the leak was with in their layers of operation
Cooper says they will learn from the incident in an effort to avoid another one
The pipeline is operating at reduced pressure until a permanent fix is completed in the next few months.
