A Nebraska international trade representative says a recent mission to China helped build relationships.

Cobus Block with the Department of Economic Development says that lays the groundwork for future investment.

Lieutenant Governor Mike Foley signed a memorandum of understanding with officials of the Hebei Province.

Block says the agreement is with an ag and industrial region.

Block says both sides want to increase trade, exchange ideas, and work together to develop better relations.

He says that could lead to more Nebraska investment in China, and China companies setting up shop in the state.
