Minnesota received an extension of the deadline to make “Real ID Compliant” drivers licenses and ID cards available state-wide. Bruce Gordon with Minnesota Department of Public Safety says that means for now, state IDs work as they always have.
Gordon says in the fall, people will be able to choose between Real ID compliant, enhanced and standard ID types. DPS plans to release more information on which license type will be right for different Minnesotans in the coming weeks.
