Rate Hike Agreement Nears

Two of the three parties involved in the Northwestern Energy electric rate hike case have reached agreement. Northwestern announced they had reached a deal with the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission staff on a plan that would increase electric rates about twenty million dollars. They had originally asked for just over twenty six million dollars.

PUC Chairman Chris Nelson says there is still another party that has not agreed to the deal…

 

Nelson says the commission will make the final decision…

 

Nelson says the PUC could come up with their own settlement numbers…

 

Nelson says he hopes they could have a final agreement by the first part of November.
