Donations to the South Dakota Rancher’s Relief Fund set up to help producers hurt by last October’s Blizzard keep pouring in. South Dakota Cattlemen, Stock Growers and Sheep Grower groups set up the fund. Cattlemen’s Executive Director Jodie Anderson says several groups have pitched in with additional funding to what was previously received.
Anderson says their total now stands at around $ 4.6 million with much of that already sent out to producers.
She says even though they can’t totally make those ranchers whole, they can at least help them start getting back up on their feet as they rebuild their herds and work to recover from the devastation.
Anderson says a large part of the recent donations came from fund raising activities held at the Black Hills Stock Show.
