Cattle producers rallied in Omaha on Wednesday calling for better market transparency and prices. The event was co-sponsored by the Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska, the Organization for Competitive Markets, R-CALF USA and Farm Aid as well as the farmers union groups of Illinois and Wisconsin. ICON Board Director and former State Senator Al Davis says captive supply is hammering producers along with market concentration.

He says there are several steps producers want President Donald Trump and Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue to take to address the problem.

Davis says he mapped out the effects the depressed cattle prices have had on his home county in Nebraska.

Davis says it’s time for President Donald Trump and Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue to stand up for American farmers and ranchers who are the lifeblood of this country and buy American and promote American products.
