There is hope that the railroads that serve the northern plains may be in a better position to move grains as harvest begins.

Thune, who is Chairman of the Science, Commerce and Transportation Committee, says he continues to push his bill that would reform the Surface Transportation Board…

 

Thune says the transportation bill, passed last month in the Senate, also has some measures that will help railroads…

 

The railroads said winter weather issues, coupled with heavy oil traffic out of North Dakota combined to cause the rail back ups.
