Rail to Trail Backers Moving Quickly

A group in southeast South Dakota is working quickly to come up with a plan to convert an unused rail line into a recreational trail.

Robert Foley of Tyndall, with the group “Friends of the Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail” spoke to the state Railroad Board about their plans..

Foley says the trail would add recreational opportunities..

Foley says they are focused on part of the line to start with….

Foley said they are in line for a two-million-dollar grant for converting the rail line. He said he would be back in front of the Rail Board with a formal presentation at their November meeting.
