The South Dakota State Rail Board is taking another look at bids for reconstruction of a portion of line from Chamberlain west to Presho. The costs of that work has come in above the funding available. Federal, state and local funds will be used for the project, which was estimated to cost about twenty eight million dollars.

Rail Board Chairman Todd Yeaton of Kimball says there are other projects also in the works that may need funding…

Yeaton says their options may be limited due to the cost of the rebuild on the Mitchell – Rapid City line…

Yeaton says when the rail board meets next week, they will talk about their funding options…

The board meets next Wednesday in Pierre.
