SD Rail Service Getting Back On Track

Access to rail car and costs were big problems for producers and elevators across South Dakota for most of the last year. Now, it looks like the problem is easing a bit.
Todd Yeaton, Chairman of the South Dakota State Rail Board, says more trains means lower costs.

Yeaton, who manages an elevator in Kimball, says they are seeing a more normal traffic pattern.

Yeaton says lower grain prices are playing into the rail situation too.

Yeaton says they are in a much better position heading into this spring compared to the last couple of years.
