The state Rail Board approved the new South Dakota rail plan at their meeting this week. The total cost of all the projects on the plan is over four hundred fifty million dollars.

The top priority on the list is actually in Iowa.

Yeaton says the Sioux City interchange was included in the original core rail plan when the state bought the lines in the 1980s. He says new developments on the state owned lines will put more traffic through that interchange…

The Sioux City project would cost about three and a half million dollars.
