Rail Park Still Possible

Rail Park Still Possible

The Yankton County Commission is reviving the process that could lead to a railroad business park at Napa Junction. The commission last year had explored a tax increment district in an attempt to help Dakota Plains of Parkston build a loading facility at the junction. That company backed away, and later announced they would locate west of Tabor.

Jeff Jones with Yankton Area Progressive Growth appeared before the commission last night…

Jones told the commission that a TIF district would be key to any development at the junction…

Jones says they have some estimated costs of development at the junction…

The commission voted to direct county planners to come up with a possible TIF plan.
