More of the pieces are falling into place for reconstruction of a portion of rail line from Chamberlain west.
South Dakota State Rail Board Chairman Todd Yeaton of Kimball says they met by phone last week and approved more contracts.

The plan is to rebuild about forty two miles of state owned track on the Mitchell – Rapid City line, which is key to a new grain – fertilizer plant being built in Kennebec.
Yeaton says they will rebid other parts of the project again.

Yeaton says they project is getting underway.

This project is one of several underway on short line rail across the state.
