Railroad companies may be catching up to the backlog of grain that has been waiting to be shipped out.
Todd Yeaton, Chairman of the South Dakota State Rail Board, says freight costs have been coming down.
Yeaton says the timing is working out better following a long harvest.
Yeaton says he is concerned the same problems will come back next year.
Producers have had to wait on trains as the major railroad companies continue to move record amounts of oil out of western North Dakota.
