R CALF Working To Restore COOL

One of the largest supporters of Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling says they will try to get the law reinstated following the recent repeal contained in the just passed budget bill.  R CALF CEO Bill Bullard says labeling for processed food items doesn’t need to be in the measure but information for consumers does need to be included.

He says Congressional repeal of COOL should not have happened and U.S. negotiators failed to diplomatically defend the law at the WTO.

Bullard says country of origin labeling is needed in order to help protect the U.S. food supply.

Bullard says his group wants labeling at every point of sale whether it be at the retail store or food service establishments.
