A Federal Court Judge in Minnesota has dismissed an antitrust class action lawsuit against the nation’s largest meatpackers alleging they conspired to fix cattle prices. The lawsuit was filed by R-CALF and the Judge ruled they didn’t give sufficient detail to prove their case. R-CALF CEO Bill Bullard says their fight against the meatpackers isn’t over however as they have time to refile an amended complaint.

He says they’re still alleging the 4 meatpackers artificially depressed prices, violated U.S. antitrust laws and the Packers and Stockyards Act.

Bullard says his group is now working on their amended charges and will file that with the court.

The four meatpackers involved in the case are JBS, Tyson, Cargill and National Beef Packing company
