A new panel will advise the U.S. Commerce Department under the Trump Administration on trade enforcement and compliance. ACTEC or the Advisory Council on Trade Enforcement and Compliance will be headed up by the Commerce Department’s Assistant Secretary. R-CALF CEO Bill Bullard says he’s pleased this committee is in place to help enforce trade agreements.

He says one of the major trade problems is the currency manipulation done by other countries and he’s hopeful ACTEC will be able to correct the problems created by that action.

Bullard says having ACTEC in place will make trade more transparent.

The Commerce Department will be publishing a notice soliciting nominations for committee membership. Members will serve for two years.
