R CALF wants the Obama administration to follow through on earlier promises and bring stronger enforcement of U.S. antitrust laws to protect American agriculture. CEO Bill Bullard says with Attorney General Eric Holder leaving the new head of the Department of Justice needs to follow through with tougher enforcement to ensure competitive livestock markets.
Bullard says there’s been no real upgrading of the nation’s antitrust laws for the last forty years and in that time competitive markets have become non existent.
Bullard says there needs to be new entrants into the beef packing and food processing industries in order to restore the needed competition.
