R-CALF members are heating up the pressure on Congress to bring forward an pass the USMCA trade agreement but only if Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling is included in the deal. R-CALF CEO Bill Bullard says without COOL, they’ll come out opposing the pact.

He says U.S. cattle producers are unable to have a level playing field for markets unless they have Mandatory COOL reinstated.

Bullard says it’s not right for the U.S. to be without COOL while Canada which is in the USMCA has their own origin of labeling rule in place.

Several U.S. agricultural groups are rallying today asking Congress to ratify USMCA.
