R-CALF members are pleased with the revamped North American Free Trade Agreement now known as the US-Mexican-Canadian Agreement. CEO Bill Bullard says while they like the overall deal, they are disappointed mandatory Country of Origin Labeling restoration for the U.S. was left out.
He says now his group will have to work to find another avenue to move COOL forward.
Bullard says their next step is to meet with the U.S. Trade Representative to make their case for COOL.
Bullard says they know they have an uphill battle to get COOL restored as there is opposition from some Large Agricultural Groups as well as Meatpackers.
