R-CALF officials are expressing disappointment at the U.S. District Court decision that threw out their challenge of the beef checkoff. R-CALF CEO Bill Bullard says while they are disappointed they weren’t surprised by the ruling.

He says they’re pondering their options going forward including possibly filing an appeal to the District Court decision.

Bullard says problems with the current beef checkoff is that the funding is being used to oppose several issues backed by U.S. cattle producers.

The legal fight over the beef checkoff has been going on for the past three years.
