R CALF CEO Bill Bullard shared with South Dakota Stock Growers at their convention the need to push cattle industry issues with the new administration and Congress following the November elections. He says three of the major ones include the need to restore COOL, updating of GIPSA rules and better antitrust enforcement.
He says that anti trust enforcement took place eight years ago. Bullard also told Stock Grower members that the makeup of the Cattlemen’s Beef Board has changed giving more power to cattle importers.
Bullard says another concern he outlined to Stock Growers is the need to improve U.S. trade policy.
The South Dakota Stock Growers held their convention Thursday and Friday in Rapid City.
