R-CALF USA officials have submitted a research paper to Congress that would fix the WTO violations under a Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling Law. CEO Bill Bullard says their aim is to get legislation introduced and passed calling for a new Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling rule.

He says one of the fixes they’re calling for in this new proposal would be to improve the definition of a retailer and expand those products that are required to be labeled.

Bullard says another correction they’re calling for in the new M-COOL is for importers to have the ability to provide more details on where an animal was born and raised.

He says the other fix they propose in this new legislation is to remove any record keeping requirements.

Bullard says by providing this information to Congress, they’re hoping to find a sponsor for their new M-COOL legislation.
