Pushing Toward Industrial Hemp

Coming up with a bill regulating industrial hemp is the goal of a South Dakota legislative summer study committee.
Committee Chairman, Representative Lee Qualm of Platte, says that could come at their meeting next month….

Qualm took part in a forum on industrial hemp at Dakotafest in Mitchell.
He says the new crop is worth all the effort…

Governor Kristi Noem sent the committee a list of over three hundred questions she said needed to be answered before the legislature moves ahead. Qualm says they are still a ways apart…

Qualm says they expect rules from the federal government to be released this fall, which will help guide them in writing state laws.
