The National Farmers Union wants the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee to pass a multi-year tax extender’s package. South Dakota Farmers Union agrees with their national group and Legislative Director Matt Sibley says the extenders package contains important provisions for farmers including biodiesel and wind energy credits as well as Section 179 expensing.

He says farmers need the certainty of having those tax extenders in place rather than waiting until the end of the year.

Sibley says not having those extenders in place makes it difficult for producers to do any long range tax and business planning.
