President Elect Donald Trump has nominated Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington state as Secretary of the Interior. Public Lands Council Executive Director Ethan Lane says Rodgers is a good pick for the job and they’re anxious to work with her on public land use issues.

He thinks Rodgers backs multiple use of public lands which fits in with their group’s policies.

Lane says President Elect Trump has made good choices to head up his cabinet so far.

While the Public Lands Council likes the choice of Rodgers to head up the Interior Department the Environmental Defense Fund has the opposite opinion and has several concerns with the nominee.
