The Endangered Species Modernization Act Legislation has been passed out of a Senate Committee and is awaiting floor action. Public Lands Council Executive Director Ethan Lane is pleased the measure is moving since they’ve been working on it for close to three years. He says it brings a more reasonable approach to regulating endangered species.

He says the legislation brings a more efficient approach to handling the regulation of endangered species.

Lane says the ESA Modernization Act will likely lead to less litigation which will make the listing and delisting of endangered species more efficient.

Lane says the measure is a more balanced approach to regulations overall.
