Members of the No KXL Coalition Dakota plan to protest in Sioux Falls this afternoon against Trans Canada’s oil pipeline project. Yankton Sioux Tribe’s Faith Spotted Eagle says the coalition is made up of several groups including both the Yankton Sioux and Cheyenne River Tribes and Dakota Rural Action as well as others.
Spotted Eagle says the primary purpose of the protest is to keep the issue out before the public and to give out information regarding the need for rejection of the KXL pipeline. She says she’s concerned about the possible effects from the pipeline on the next generation.
Spotted Eagle says the Coalition is urging President Obama to reject TransCanada’s Keystone XL project.
