A development site in western Yankton County got a boost from the Yankton City Commission this week. At least one company is looking at building a large rail loading facility at Napa Junction. That is where the BNSF rail line connects to state owned rail at the “Y” junction.
Yankton Area Progressive Growth President John Kramer told the commission this week that this is a chance for private development to take the lead…
Kramer said the grain loading facility could the first of several developments at the junction…
An inter model facility is another possibility at the site. Kramer said that would be a statewide advantage…
The city commission voted to support the project. The Yankton County Commission is working through studies of the area before approving a building permit.
