Property tax reform tops the priority list for farm groups in the upcoming Nebraska Unicameral. Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson says Governor Heineman helped lay the groundwork in the last session and they hope to build on that.
Nelson says the inequities in the property tax system are complex and won’t be easily unwound in just one session.
Governor-elect Pete Ricketts says he will make property tax relief his number one priority. He’s already discussing property tax relief with state senators during phone calls he has initiated to get acquainted and exchange views.
