The top priority for the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association in the upcoming Unicameral is to get lawmakers to pass more property tax relief measures. Cattlemen’s Executive Vice President Pete McClymont says ranchers are being pressured by the trifecta of high property taxes, high land values and lower commodity prices.
He says while addressing high property taxes, some long term solutions need to be found for education funding in Nebraska.
McClymont says another legislative priority centers around ag transportation issues.
The Unicameral starts meeting in January and runs for 60 days.
