A legislative task force that monitors the evolving property tax system in South Dakota will meet again tomorrow (Tuesday) in Pierre.

The Ag Land Assessment Implementation Task Force was set up to watch over the property tax system as it changes from a sales based, to land productivity.

Senator Jason Frerichs of Wilmot says they are still sorting through how land is being used…

Frerichs says they are finding taxes may rise when commodity prices plunge…

The committee also has time for public testimony. Frerichs says that is important to all committee members…

Frerichs says at this point, the committee doesn’t have any legislation planned for the 2015 session.
