Property tax relief will again be a top priority during the Nebraska legislative session.
Governor Pete Ricketts says the state is limited on how it can impact the property taxes Nebraskans pay. . .
Ricketts says he is talking with state senators about a number of proposals, but might well have to fall back on increasing the money appropriated to the property tax relief fund.
But, the governor admits the state has limited options available. . .
The governor failed to get through his proposal to lower the property tax rate on farmland. He did succeed in increasing the amount appropriated to the property tax relief fund.
