Propane Prices Historically Low for Harvest

Propane prices have dropped dramatically from the record highs two seasons ago and that’s good news for farmers moving into a near record large harvest. Cinch Munson with the Propane Education and Research Council says propane is a real bargain right now.

Even with this year’s bumper crop in the western corn belt he says the Energy Information Association is predicting prices should stay low and supplies should be plentiful through the fall grain drying season.

However, even with ample supplies its unlikely prices will stay this low indefinitely. So Munson says it might be a good time stock up.

He says the cost savings may actually pay for additional tanks on the farm.
