Now through May 30, eligible producers can submit a request for a vote on the soy check off. It’s required under the Soybean Promotion Research and Consumer Information Act every five years and will determine whether U.S. soybean producers want a referendum of the check off. United Soybean Board Secretary and Ethan South Dakota grower Lewis Bainbridge of Ethan says eligibility rules are simple.
Bainbridge says if you want the current check off to stay in place you don’t have to do anything. However if you want a referendum or a vote on the check off you need to fill out a form.
Bainbridge says the current check off is used for national and state promotion, research and education programs.
