Several areas of Nebraska state government are becoming more efficient thanks to process improvement training.

Department of Administrative Services Director Byron Diamond says the goal it to change the workplace culture to be more effective.

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is improving processing times for professional licenses.

Administrators says shorter wait times are due to process improvement training for the entire staff.

Program manager Kris Chiles says her team reviews an application in five days now, when it used to take a month.

Chiles says her staff has a short morning meeting to discuss daily goals, challenges from the day before, and solutions.

The Center for Operational Excellence organizes the improvement training for state agencies.
