A state prison offender who was placed on escape status this week is back in custody.

Offender Rufus Rainbow was arrested in Charles Mix County Feb. 28.

Rainbow left a community assignment in Yankton without authorization and failed to return to the Yankton Minimum Center Feb. 27.
