An application for a new wind power project in Charles Mix and Bon Homme Counties before the Public Utilities Commission is on hold.
The attorneys for the “Prevailing Winds Project” submitted a motion to withdraw the application today. PUC Chairman Chris Nelson addressed it at their scheduled meeting…..

Nelson says they cannot take action on the motion to withdraw today…….

Lee Magnuson, an attorney representing Prevailing Winds apologized for the late filing……

Backers of the project proposed building one hundred wind towers across thirty-seven thousand acres in the two counties.
A long public meeting on the project was held last Wednesday night in Avon.
