President’s Proposed Budget Overlooks Biodiesel Tax Incentive

President Obama’s Fiscal Year 2015 Budget Proposal did not include the reinstatement of the biodiesel tax credit.  This comes as a real disappointment to groups like the National Biodiesel Board.  CEO Joe Jobe says the tax incentive is needed because it supports nearly 63,000 jobs and provides economic certainty to the biodiesel industry.

Jobe says the $1 per gallon blender’s credit levels the playing field between biodiesel and regular diesel, which is one of the main reasons for the tremendous growth in the industry.

The budget proposal did include the reinstatement of several other expired tax provisions, such as tax credits for cellulosic biofuel, wind energy production and research and development.
