President Donald Trump detailed the recent successes his administration has had in the trade arena at this week’s American Farm Bureau Convention in Austin, Texas. That includes the ratification of USMCA and the signing of the China phase one trade deal. He says the agreements will increase exports and help pave the way for a more prosperous future for America’s farmers and ranchers.

The President also thanked farmers for their support, especially during the tough times of the trade war.

U.S. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says USDA will track China’s purchases to make sure they are complying with the deal and report those to the U.S. Trade Representative’s Office. He says the deal has unique enforce ability provisions.

However, he says China can buy the commodities and amounts they wish to meet their commitment, and that’s why there were no mandated or detailed commodity totals released.
