President Candidates Oppose Trade Deals

Both Presidential Candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are opposing trade deals like the Trans Pacific Partnership. Recently Trump said if he’s elected he’ll exit NAFTA and withdraw from the TPP. R-CALF CEO Bill Bullard is pleased whoever’s elected President will push for a change away from so called free trade policy.

He says his group is asking Congress to implement specific trade policy principles in every agreement.
Bullard says any U.S. trade policy must focus on domestic supply chains.

He says that policy also needs to address currency manipulation, as well as making sure value added taxes and border adjustable taxes aren’t allowed which negate tariff reductions. Bullard says the U.S. also needs to free itself from being subject to the WTO’s tribunal which has superseded U.S law.
