The group called the Private Property Rights Coalition (PPRC) is hosting free informational meetings on the eminent domain process for landowners along the Dakota Access Pipeline in Iowa. Spokesman Keith Puntenney says the group is trying to help land owners with information on a couple of key issues.
Puntenney says most of the interest is coming from northwest Iowa.
Puntenney says there are believed to be around 150 or so people who have not agreed to voluntarily give an easement for the pipeline.
Landowners have 30 days to decide what action they will take once they’ve been served by the county sheriff that the company wants to use eminent domain for their property.
