Electric companies across the central part of the country are dealing with power supply issues due to the nasty cold weather from Canada to Texas.
Brad Schardin, Manager of Southeastern Electric, based in Marion says they have been doing more load control on customers equipment…
The problem came from the Southwest Power Pool. Schardin says all the utilities in the region are in that pool….
Some utilities as far north as Nebraska had some rolling blackouts to deal with the power demand further south.
Schardin says they haven’t had to resort to blackouts yet…
The power pool will be about two gigawatts short of the needed load today.
