Poultry Industry Sees Cuba as Potential Market

Poultry, egg and soybean group officials traveled to Cuba the end of September in an effort establish ties for future ag trade. National Association of Egg Farmers President Ken Klippen says Cuba is a great potential market for U.S. eggs and the Cubans have a real appetite for the product.

He says to foster enhanced trade with Cuba, it’s critical financial restrictions be lifted. So his organization is working with other U.S. ag groups to try achieve that.

Klippen says there are other potential markets for U.S. egg products they’re also working on.

U.S. poultry, egg, turkey and chicken group leaders all joined United Soybean Board officials on the trade mission to Cuba.
